Hurrevac Exercises and Exercise Services

States and Regions occasionally conduct exercises using Hurrevac, and Hurrevac storm track exercise files are created and posted on the hurrevac.com site by Sea Island Software during the exercise, as if in real time (although it can be on an accelerated basis instead of every 6 hours to accommodate the exercise timetable).

Exercise Services (3 levels)

If your state or community would like to conduct an exercise using bogus Hurrevac exercise data files, Sea Island Software can provide the data feed incrementally (for each advisory as if in real time) to your Hurrevac users on an exercise schedule you specify.

We can also provide other exercise services up to and including full turnkey exercise service (we have 36 years of National Weather Service meteorologist experience).

We provide -
Incremental Real-Time Datafeed of data files and advisory text to your Hurrevac users during the exercise through hurrevac.com and the Hurrevac2000 program

Level 2

You provide -
Exercise timetable
Forecast/Advisory Text (in NHC format)
Any other advisory text you wish transmitted (Public Advisory, Discussion)

We create / provide -
Corresponding Hurrevac exercise data (.stm) files for each advisory
Incremental Real-Time Datafeed of data files and advisory text to your Hurrevac users during the exercise through hurrevac.com and the Hurrevac2000 program

Level 3 (Full Turnkey Exercise)

You provide -
nothing except exercise timetable / storm desired...

We create / provide -
All Hurrevac exercise data (.stm) files
The following text products as desired for realism -
Forecast/Advisory Text for each advisory (NHC format)
Public Advisory text for each advisory (NHC format)
Discussion Bulletin for each advisory (NHC format)
Incremental Real-Time Datafeed of data files and advisory text to your Hurrevac users during the exercise through hurrevac.com and the Hurrevac2000 program

For the Full Turnkey Exercise option, we request that you give us at least 1 month notice prior to the exercise.
